meaningless life - meaningful life

I've been reading takepart.com and I'm amazed and touched by so many people involved in making this world truly a better place to live. Take a look of these five women impaling the communities around the world. The stories shared on that website are truly amazing and proof that every individual , no matter how small or big one is, can make a lot of difference in this world. On one hand it moves me but on the other hand makes me feel idiotic that I'm not contributing anything.
on one hand the stories are so inspiring that motivates one to go beyond your comfort zone to help others , touch their lives I make a difference. the people on that site are taking an unconventional stance at solving problems. They are not waiting for every star to align. they are taking charge and making the difference. They are not sitting back and cribbing how things are falling apart. They are nothing up their sleeves and building communities, giving them hope and a life to live. These are type of people we need more in the world. These are the people we med in India. Indians are great at sitting back and pointing fingers and crib. what we need is not whiners. we need leaders who can got their hands dirty and mobilize the community to act as a single entity and make it work for its own good.

I would like to see move people got involved in their community. I for one am ready to contribute in every small way possible to help this noble cause.

DSK,
good to read that, u get time to explore on these topics..
However most of us (typewriters !) think that voting online / net surfing / or creating some media hype would solve the issues..take example of TimesOfIndia Leader contest last year, where few leaders were selected based on SMS/Poll/debates etc, but when they tried for parliamnent, could not get through. We need more grass-root level leaders..and there are some.. for example Swami Ramdev, who despite wearing saffron, is trying to unite all and chage the way we think..

Vimal,
TV shows have no intention of making things better. If they do make, they will be out of business. SMS,poll etc are all just to drag the traffic to them. other than that i dont believe they have any vested interest.
Sitting at the desk and writing about stuff doesnt do much good either. We might inspire couple of people to do something, but nothing beats getting down, rolling up sleeves and getting our hands dirty and inspiring others to do so. I sometimes feel sad that the youth in our country which can do so much just squanders their energy and time away for no good cause. Hope people will realize that and change.
